Reg2Locale utility

The SELECTserver Gateway is a service that runs as a local system user by default. Consequently, if license settings are stored only in a user profile, the Gateway is unable to activate and will fail with a 1067 error. The reg2locale utility was created to copy the settings to a registry location accessible by all users on a machine. To use it, please perform the following steps:

  1. Download this zip file, and expand it.
  2. For all operating systems besides Windows XP or Windows Server 2003, right-click on the reg2locale.exe file, and select Run As Administrator from the contextual menu. Otherwise, open it using an account with administrator privileges.
  3. Note whether the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE section at the bottom displays license settings. If license settings are listed only in the HKEY_CURRENT_USER section at the top, click the "Copy from HKCU to HKLM" button in the middle.
  4. Click the Close button to exit reg2locale.
