One of the biggest enhancements in the CONNECT Edition release over V8i was the implementation of the ribbon. The ribbon and related User Interface enhancements are a big leap in improving usability of MicroStation and in turn enhancing the productivity of the users. Additionally, these UI enhancements are also very flexible for customization.
The MicroStation user interface is designed with deep thinking so as to cover the tools in the most logical order. However, depending on the domain and use, the ribbon and other interface components may need to be customized to make your work more efficient and productive.

I don't believe that this is true. It certainly isn't in my case, as the ribbon just slowed me down to the point where it was just unproductive. PM worked a whole lot better!
