Featured LEARNing: MicroStation virtual classes for UK & Australia, March 23-27

Generating Roadway Annotation: Labeling Existing and Proposed Roadway Features
Virtual Classroom, Australia
Mar. 25, 2015 – 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM   AWST
Michel Belke

In this course you will learn to annotate existing geometry while keeping text scaled with the final plot scale using Annotation Scale. You will learn to place symbols, in this case Begin and End of project symbols, learning ways of placement relative to existing geometry. You will learn manipulation tools, such as copy and move of existing text labels to assist you in drawing creation.

Working with Cells
Virtual Classroom, United Kingdom
Mar. 25, 2015 – 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM       UTC
Tine Lai Andersen

Cells represent complex elements that you use regularly in your designs. In this course, you will learn how to place, create, edit, and replace cells

Annotating Designs
Virtual Classroom, United Kingdom
Mar. 25, 2015 – 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM        UTC
Tine Lai Andersen

In this course, you will learn how to place and edit texts, dimensions, and patternings.

Create 2D Plans from 3D Geometry in a Civil Workflow
Virtual Classroom, United Kingdom
Mar. 26, 2015 – 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM     UTC
Tine Lai Andersen

This civil session lets you master many of the workflows used to produce basic 3D models comprised of Solids, Surfaces and Meshes. Discover basic 3D navigation and create 2D plans from those models. Develop your 3D skills by creating a basic pier cap, foundation and other components to create a preliminary bridge design. You will develop 2d plan sets and their details from the 3D model. You will place callouts on the 3D model making it more reliable, effective, and valuable providing a clearer picture of the design.

Producing Project Deliverables: Creating, Labeling, and Printing the Plan Sheet
Virtual Classroom, Australia
Mar. 26, 2015 – 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM   AWST    2 hrs
Michael Belke

In this course you will add existing data to the project. You will use referencing tools. You will create project deliverables, creating sheets from project data. You begin by creating a place for those sheets to reside, within a sheet model. Then reference or overlay data at a scale. You will learn Sheet Manipulation techniques for correct scaling, rotation and coordinates. You will “clip” geometry to the sheet and manipulate the data itself. Learn additional annotation and cell methods and dimensioning. You will print the plan sheet using standard sheet printing tools.

Composing Designs and Drawings
Virtual Classroom, United Kingdom
Mar. 26, 2015 – 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM        UTC       2 hrs
Tine Lai Andersen

In this course, you will learn how to attach references and control their display, how to attach raster images, and how to create a print composition using a sheet model.

Printing and Publishing
Virtual Classroom, United Kingdom
Mar. 26, 2015 – 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM        UTC       1 hrs
Tine Lai Andersen

In this course, you will learn how to print a sheet model with a print composition, and how to print directly from a design model.
