New in MicroStation CONNECT Edition Update 14 - Create a Non-Orthogonal Cut in a Solid

You can now create a non-orthogonal cut in a solid using AccuDraw. Earlier you could only create a cut in a direction orthogonal to the solid. You can now manipulate the direction of the cut using the handles to get the desired result.

Here’s how you can do this:

  1. Select the Cut solids with Curves tool (Modeling > Solids > Features).
  2. In the tool settings select the desired values for Cut Method, Cut Direction, Cut Mode, Cut Depth and Profile.
  3. Select the solid to cut
  4. Select the cutting profile element.
  5. Click and drag the Green arrow in the desired direction using AccuDraw to adjust the cut direction.

We hope this enhancement will make your 3D solid modeling tasks more efficient. If you have any suggestions or feedback on the above, feel free to comment in our community forums.
