The time taken to plot sheets in PDF from Print Organizer has shown substantial improvement in MicroStation CONNECT Edition Update 16 as compared to Update 15. Print Organizer is used for printing and reprinting DGN/DWG, Raster, and PDF files that are stored in a print set. Files have multiple models and models have multiple sheets.
With MicroStation CONNECT Edition Update 16, the performance in plotting sheets to PDF from Print Organizer specifically for Rasterized options with Geo coordinated data has notably improved. Previously, it took longer to plot the sheets however with update 16, the time has reduced by 10% or more as compared to update 15
Select the Print Range as “All” in the Print Dialog and click on Destination mode to browse to the desired location and save the PDF file. Once you click on OK, all the sheets in the model will be printed in one PDF file.

The overall viewpoint of this graph is to display the overlapping results between MicroStation CONNECT Edition Update 15 and Update 16. However, in both the dataset, the graph substantially increases in favor of Update 16. The load time for plotting sheets in Update 15 with 396 prints was trending at an average of 50 minutes and now with Update 16, it has come down to 41 minutes.
The idea of this analysis is to assist our users to understand the difference in the time required for the Print Organizer to plot the sheets in PDF for Batch Printers in Rasterized options. To obtain the graph, the average loading time was considered on conducting the tests multiple times. The datasets used for the tests are from different verticals which help in evaluating the performance in MicroStation CONNECT Edition Update 15 and Update 16. These tests have been conducted multiple times and the average loading time was considered to obtain the graph below. Since there are many variables that affect the load/print time, the results may vary.
