CONNECT Edition – Big News!The second day of the 2014 Year in Infrastructure Conference has officially concluded in London, but there’s so much to look back on! Throughout yesterday’s Media Day, several exciting announcements were made. First and foremost, Bentley was pleased to unveil MicroStation CONNECT Edition and its common environment for comprehensive project delivery. The CONNECT Edition will succeed Bentley’s V8i software generation, supporting a hybrid computing environment for Comprehensive Project Delivery and “completing the reach” to all project participants. Not only does it break new ground to support Comprehensive Project Delivery, CONNECT Edition leverages Microsoft’s Azure cloud services to connect all users across projects. Be Inspired Finalists Present their SuccessWhile there was certainly a significant buzz at YII2014 surrounding the new CONNECT Edition, the real stars of today’s show were the Be Inspired finalists! 54 finalist organizations buzzed with enthusiasm as they had the opportunity to present their innovative work to jurors, press, and peers. Gene Roe, from Lidar News, encapsulated the feeling perfectly, “I’m a civil engineer by birth. And to come to a place like this and see the top 50 or so projects in the world? It’s heaven!”
