DWG FILES asking to save, then throw away settings

Good day,
I have a question in connection with dwg files, in our line of work we work a lot with dwg files from our clients, and the problem that I have is, as I'm working on this file it asks me to save every so often. Even though my settings are set to automatically save and save on exit. But that not being the biggest problem, when it saves it throws away all the settings that I was busy with, for example, I have matched the text style, as soon as it has saved that setting is gone and I have to start all over. Is there a way, setting that I can change that might eliminate this problem?

    Sorry about that, we are working on windows 365 and microstation select series 3, I have read the 1st reply but that does not answer my question, as it relates to saving to dwg. My problem is when I'm already working on the dwg file, it asks me to save and when it does, the settings that I changed to, is just missing and I have to set it up again. My workspace is set up to save automatically and when I leave the file, and in the dgn files it works perfectly, but as soon as I work on the dwg this occurs. When I Save it is gone.
