Hi,

How to Export to DWG only levels "used" and "on" of several models?

  • There is no simple setting that does what you want in one shot but among other workarounds perhaps attaching & merging this file into a new file might get you a desired file from which you can then save as a DWG file.

  • Have you tried setting "global display" in the Level Display Dialog box prior to doing a save as dwg. This should at least save the dwg file with the levels that are turned on in your view and leave the levels turn off that are currently off in your dgn file.

  • Hi Don and Roland,

First of all, thanks for the answers! Well, we try the workarounds explained, and there are our conclusions:

    - Workaround merging files: It's an interesting workaround, useful for little projects or few DWG exports. In our case, in a big project, with a lot a continuous DWG Exports, this workaround it's not productive to apply in our projects

    - workaround using "global settings": Well, in our projects, the capture in my first post, it is from a drawing extraction (model with a Dynamic view), and we try your workaround, but it didn't works....

Thanks a lot, and best regards,

  • what about freezing the  levels off ?....

What about export to DGN to output folder then use batch processor to merge all the refs then run batch convert on the result or a vba macro to do all the above

    .....??????????????????????

Not  really it depends how your data is set up and how consistent it is  but the  process that others outlined  but better done with batch processor to do the merge  via commands or a vba macro to do the merge on the batch processor. files list. then use the batch convertor to do the dwg as the last step...
