Superscripts displaying as question mark

Hi all, 
 When opening a DWG in V8i, why does a superscript display as a question mark? 
 All the fonts are there - no missing font warning in Message Center. 
 Is this a toggle setting somewhere? The top pic is V8i, the bottom is TrueView.

Hello, 
Could you specify the font type you are using? 
If you are using SHX fonts, could you try setting the following configuration variable to point to the location of your SHX fonts? 
Workspace>Configuration>MS_DWGFONTPATH 
The MS_DWGFONTPATH is normally undefined.

I resolved this. The font is "romans.shx". The variable MS_DWGFONTPATH was pointing to a SHX folder. 
It turns out that font was in 2 locations - when I renamed both and used out of box Microstation - it displayed correctly.
