If you must translate dozens or hundreds of files the, I suggest you look at Utilites>Batch Convert. Ask Inga has a great deal of information that may help as well.

That helps.
I have used the Help section but it doesn't address questions like:
Should we import DGNLIB TextStyles or DimStyles into each DGN as part of the conversion process.
Also, is it needed to Compress (all Options) each file or leave as is?

We have dozens (sometimes hundreds) of DWGs to convert to DGN each month.

In the MicroStation help there are several sections on this topic, just search using ' dwg ' and you will find topics such as 'Sharing DGN and DWG Data' & ' troubleshooting' which may be of help

Its also possible to open or reference and work on DWG's natively, so may be there is no need to translate.
