If I activate a dgn and make a change that is immediately saved to disk.
But what happens if I activate a .dwg ? Is a deactivate also a SAVE of the dwg?
Background is I have some files onG-drive and using deactivate seems to hang ABD.

not my experience .. I often activate dwgs and make minor changes and save just in case then deactivate or return throught previous model green arrow bottom left and it doesnt seem to hang .. well not Warp speed, I'll grant you, unlike dgn but at least it is impulse speed... could not help myself with the star trek reply... sorry

Deactivating a ref file could save changes into DWG file. But if directly saving the DWG file is fine and only deactivating it as a ref file hangs ABD, the causes can vary.
Hi Lorys and thanks for answer.
Any special reason why you don't use right-click deactivate after your save?

Hi Don
'could'?
What is the expected action i the dwg when I only deactivate?
Changes are saved in the dwg? or not?
and - why is this thread moved to this forum?
It depends on your auto-saving settings/configs - if an auto-save has kicked in before your deactivating the ref, no save should take place; otherwise it should.
