We need to convert several Autodesk files to Microstation files. We use Microstation V8i SS3.
The newer Autodesk files (from version Autocad 2018/2019) cannot be converted in our excisting Microstation version. We will migrate to Microstation Connect to make this possible, but this migration will not occur in the upcoming months.
We are looking for a temporary solution on a short term. Does someone has experience with a 3rd party DWG-DGNconvertor like the one from "reaConvertor" (performance, quality of output, duration of converting)? We need to be 100 % sure that all info is converted correctly.
Or is there another solution fot the time being?
Best regards, Roger
Hi Roger,
Could you ask the provider of these DWGs to save them to a different version?
Use Autodesks Trueview. That can convert back to older versions of DWG.
And true view is FREE!

Ok. so this would mean to first convert to older version, and afterwards to load them in Microstation.. Didn't thought about that possibility. I saw Trueview is for free so I could check and test that with enduser. Thanks.
If you upgrade to the latest release of MicroStation CONNECT Edition (Update 11) it is certified to open / modify / export the DWG 2018 format files which would be the same for DWG 2019 format. You should therefore be able to open these DWG files and Save As V8 DGN yourself.
