Using DWS file created in ACAD

Hi

 I have been given a DWS file that was created in ACAD.  If I try and open a DWG 2007 file that the same company sent me and use the DWS file I get an error;

An Error occurred while loading DWG settings.........

I have added the DWS file

Anyone know why this would not work in V8i SS1

  • These are two different DWS files.  In AutoCAD, a DWS is a DWG file that contains layer, dimension style, etc that are used as standards for projects.  In MicroStation, a DWS file is a user preference file that stores DWG open/save settings.  You probably meant to use the standards DWS file in a DGNLIB, instead of a DWG settings file.
