Consistently missing JPG Raster Reference after opening a dxf

Missing raster reference issus has been happening for quite sometime (Even prior to SS2). Now that I realize what is going on, I can consistently replicate the issue. We have a titleblock.dgn file with a raster reference and the titleblock.dgn is referenced into an active dgn file. If we take the active dgn file and convert it to a dxf file everything works and looks fine (in the dxf). When reopening the active dgn file with the referenced titleblock file it no longer shows the raster jpg file.

The titleblock.dgn file is in the same folder as the active dgn file. The raster jpg (referenced into the titleblock.dgn) is one folder below the active file folder.

I can consistently open any a dxf and the close it and reopen any dgn file that contains the raster image (from the referenced titleblock.dgn file) and the raster jpg file is missing.

To solve this missing raster image, we will do any one of the following:

1) open the reference dialog box and it shows the raster display is on for the referenced titleblock.dgn file. Select raster display twice on the referenced titleblock.dgn and the raster image appears.

2) Or open titleblock.dgn file reload raster image with raster manager.

3) Or Close microstation application and re-open dgn file.

All files are on a network drive. Hopefully, somone can confirm this also happens to them.

TIA,

  • Hi Roland,

I cannot replicate the problem with a more recent version.

Could you check if you can replicate the problem with MicroStation SELECTSeries 3 Refresh 2?

Also could you send us a dataset?

    Thanks,

    Mathieu

  • Hi Mathieu,

I repeated the same steps with SS3 08.11.09.376. Got the same results. SS3 configuration has not been modified for our workspace.

    So here is the setup:

In the active network folder contains:

Ha1.dgn - active working file - has the Titleblock.dgn referenced into it

Titleblock.dgn (which has the jpg file referenced into it)

JPG file is in a folder below the active files network folder call RasterLogo.

Ha1.dxf is in the active file folder (same location as Ha1.dgn)

Opening Ha1.dxf shows the jpg file. Then open Ha1.dgn will not show the jpg file.

JPG logo is in the right top of the drawning.

I will uploaded the files for you to take a look at.
