Hi,
In order to import a model I made in Microstation to Bentley PoinTools ,I exported the file to OBJ format (The only format PoinTools can read from Microstation- to the best of my knowledge).
The model was exported fine but without the grid lines (see picture 1 - from Microstation) :
see Picture 2 - the OBJ file on PoinTools :
As you can see - I cannot see the numbers of the grids and also the grid lines.
Maybe you know why this happens ?
Can you suggest another format I can use that PoinTools can read ? (ans I can use Microstation to export to it)
Thanks,
Eyal
Can you provide the files or if the files are large a link where the files can be downloaded?
Here it is :
Microstation model (*.i.dgn) : dl.dropboxusercontent.com/.../TOTAL%20MODEL.i.dgn.zip
You can export the model to OBJ file (It will create a very big file ~230 MB) - then you can upload it to PoinTools and view it - the grid lines and the numbers wont be shown.
Thanks
ObjExporter is based on ModelFacetter, faceting is a 3d concept. This means that only surface an solid elemets can be exported. This why your grid lines do not come through as they are 2d.

Hi Eyal,
I would suggest that you post your question in : communities.bentley.com/.../343228.aspx, which is the forum to use for questions related to Pointools.
