I am trying to import a google earth image into a 3D model in Microstation and am having some trouble. I have followed the steps listed in the help section, including setting my geographic coordinates correctly and zooming to the corresponding area in GE. I have "Terrain" on in GE, and have tried multiple times to use the "Capture Google Earth Image" command in Microstation, but when I click the data point to accept nothing happens. It's almost like the link between Microstation and GE isn't working. Has anyone else run into this problem? I also can't use any of the other GE tools, such as "Synchronize View" and "Follow View". Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I am not sure of this: Was GoogleEarth installed before MicroStation? That sometimes makes a difference. MicroStation had to be installed last for M-Sta. to recognize the other software was available.

Same problem here. Despite following all of the directions in the help file & the forums I could not get the image to appear in the proper location. It's pretty useless anyhow because the image captured from Earth is so grainy it is unusable.
Microstation CONNECT - 10.17.2.61
ORD - 2021 R1 10.10.1.3
ORD 2022 R1.1 - 10.11.3.2
ORD 2022 R3 - 10.12.2.4
Microstation v8i SS 10 - 08.11.09.919
Power InRoads v8i - 08.11.09.615

The resolution is dependent on how far you are zoomed in/out and is limited by the original Google Earth image resolution. It is also only grey-scale if the free one is used (?Google Earth Pro).
PS the image will only display if you have the view set to automatic rendering (set your view Display Style to Smooth w/Shadows) & you may have to add additional lighting.
Here is a sample of my display. Google Earth on Left and M-Sta on Right
Be sure that GE is opened through the MicroStation tools. It must be launched by MicroStation in order for MicroStation to interact with it. Launch GE by using "Synchronize View" or "Follow View" commands. Once it has been launched by MicroStation everything should work fine.
