Hi all I am having trouble locating the default seed file in microstation. I was given a seed file by a colleague which I was told to use, I placed this seed file on my desktop which I worked on. I no longer use this seed file as I do not need it and thus have deleted it. Now when I try & create a new .dgn file microstation looks for the default seed file on the desktop which was the old seed file location. When I select browse to find the default 3d seed file I cannot find it can anyone help? The directory I have been looking at is as follows:- C:\Program Files\Bentley\MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries 1) The files in this directory is as follows:- • Assemblies • Documentation • Map • Microstation • Printpreparation (Driving me nuts) Thanks
Seed file locations are specific to the current workspace.
So, if you are in the Examples workspace, then the seedfile location is ...\WorkSpace\Projects\Examples\General\seed\
If you're in Untitled, then it's ...\WorkSpace\system\seed\
My workspace folder is located in C:\ProgramData\Bentley\MicroStation V8i SS3\ but yours might be different.
Note that the search path for the seed files is specified via the MS_SEEDFILES configuration variable, and the default seed file is defined by MS_DESIGNSEED.
you could also have used windows explorer to find 3dseed*.dgn ..
Then when you now now the path browse to it and set the path in your works space config...
