I'm having trouble getting my reference level to show correctly when I apply my "Saved View." I'm using MicroStation V8i (SS2) ver 08.11.07.443. I have a print file referencing a container file, and in my print file I turn on and off some of my references in the container file. Once I have all my references turned on and off the way I like it, I do a "Saved View." So if someone accidentally turns off all the references in the original container file, it won't affect the print file as long as I apply my saved "Saved View"
But now when I apply my "Saved View" it doesn't hold my References Level the way I saved it, and it's totally controlled by the container file (fyi - I do have my reference level turned on when I go apply my "Saved View"). Is there something I'm missing here, why is my "Saved View" not applying my saved referenced level.
Hello,
Are you turning on/off the display of the references themselves from the References dialog or, are you controlling the display by turning on/off reference levels?
Regards,
can you do a screen shot of the ref manager we want to see your settings

I'm just turning on and off the reference themselves. Example, lets say I have reference 1,2,3,4 attached, then I turn off 1 and 3, and then do a "Saved Viewed." My saved viewed if I'm not mistaken should save my my references with only 2 and 4 turned on and 1 and 3 turned off. So if turn on all my references on 1,2,3,4 and then apply my "saved viewed" it should automatically turn off ref 1,3, and leave ref 2,4 turn on, correct? Well, for some reason its not working like that, when I apply my saved view nothing happens to my references.
The version you have currently, MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries 2) number 08.11.07.443, cannot control reference display using Saved Views directly. This can be achieved in MicroStation V8i (SELECTseries 3). However, if you attach the references to a level, turn the levels on/off and then create a Saved View, it can be controlled in this way. Have a look at the following article about using Saved Views to Control Reference Display
