Title Block cell question

I have a title block cell that has tags associated with it. I would like to put our north arrow, construction stamp, etc (also cells currently) into the title block cell so I dont have to put them in each individually everytime I set up a drawing. When I insert the new cell which contains all of the above and I go to drop it so I can take the stamps off I dont need, the tags in the title block also drop. Is there a way around this so I can bring everything associated with my title block in at the same time and at the same scale with out losing my tags in the title block? Thank you.

I do understand your concern but in Todd’s case the original design was never changed and you can still do all the things you state aren’t possible it is just not done in the sheet model it is done in the original design model.  You are correct in that you are creating designs and model and in those cases you are still able to reference those designs together.  When building a sheet it is much simpler to understand if the Sheet is assembled like a piece of paper.

With all that we do and will continue to support both methods of sheet creation (scale border up or scale design down) as both have pros and cons.

...  When referencing I would bring your Title block in at 1:1 then scale your design file when referenced to fit your Sheet.  If you want you can always merge your files together to make on file.
dont do that  scale the sheet up to the world and always ref attach ref files 1:1  world co-incedent ...
We are survey drafters etc and when we receive files done your way it makes me weep.. cant  align anything cant use cooridinates cant refattach existing cadaster or photography.. people got to stop thinking they are making a cad file for a piece of paper your not! your making models that can and will be shared ..
I expect this kind of work flow from Autocad users  as thats they way they are trained ... but mstn  users know better...

  • sorry John I disagree... he asked how to make a tagged or attributed title block, others have suggested to use the sheet model thats fine use a sheet model but when you go create sheet model untick the defaulted tick box, this causes when ticked to put the sheet  boundary at 0,0.. if you dont do it it still creates the sheet model, you just have to  ref attach your your reference 1:1 world coincedent  then attach your ref file of your title block or cell scaled up to real world.. let the printer scale the model to  paper ...

Now you can get real coordiantes and you can check the sheets all match eachother and ref attach all your sheet model based plans into another model for checking because they are real world size  and location .. just like we used to do before we had sheet models...still allows for best of both worlds easy printing and annotation scaling of text etc and real world placement the autocad style working method is inefficient and not usable for every user the ref model realworld works for every possibility...

I think when Bentley developers were creating the make or add sheet model they just assumed having it preticked to create the sheet layout boundary was best way because its just like autocad heck he probably was an acad user... Ive been fighting this place the sheet at 0,0 and move the world object there for 15 years with acad drafters supplying me building layouts ,road works etc  and they still doing it !
