I'm trying to learn how to use Microstation and I somehow can't figure out how to add the solid modeling toolbox to the taskbar.
I made a file using the 3d seed and all but the 3d modeling tools are still not showing up.
Any help would be nice
At the top of the MicroStation V8i application window you will see the name of the file that you have opened and whether it is [2D - V8 DGN] or [3D - V8 DGN].
If you have a 3D V8 DGN file open you should see in the Task dialog all of the tools relating to 3D including Solids Modelling, Surface Modelling, Feature Modelling etc.
If you have a 2D V8 DGN file open these 3D modeling tools would not display.

I opened a [3D - V8 DGN] and it still would now show the tools unless i'm doing something wrong.
Sometimes a task which does not include 3D tools might be selected in the Task drop down menu. For example, if the 'Drawing' task is selected, the 3D tools are not displayed in the Tasks area even in a 3D file. Have a look at the following short video and see if it helps...
