XM not saving settings

I'm having a strange issue with XM version 08.09.04.88. Every time I start the program it starts in a default layout. I open my toolboxes and set for two application windows but when I close and open again it returns to the default state. Weird because yesterday it was all fine and today it's not.

Any suggestions?

    Hello,
    could you check that you have full read/write access to your User Preference File (.upf)?
    It is possible that your settings are not saving to the UPF file.

    In order to find the UPF location, type in the following key-in: $ % explorer $(_USTN_HOMEPREFS) - This will open windows explorer showing the content of your user preferences folder.
