I am working with modifying some closed shapes. I would like to work in AccuDraw's polar mode and grab the shape by one of the segments.
If I have "Enable SmartLine modifications" checked in the Tool Settings dialog, which allows me to pick the shape by one of the segments, the AccuDraw compass changes from Polar to Rectangular when the segment is chosen. I must then hit the space bar again to change back to Polar and do what I need to. Once the segment is relocated, AccuDraw changes back to Polar. It stays on Polar if the box is not checked, but then I am not able to choose the shape by a side (segment). I would like to know how to keep it from changing and have it stay on whichever I have chosen before using the command.
I am hoping there is a setting somewhere that I am missing.

I am uploading a video of a situation where I feel like I need to have the compass in polar mode. Maybe there is another way of doing this just as easily in rectangular mode. I just don't understand the default behavior.

Just grab the corner with modify - move the cursor to B - press "O" - switch to Polar mode (Spacebar) - move the cursor back to A - key "/" and "2" (meaning devided by 2 - with the AccuDraw built in calculator) - this should indicate the distance halfway between A and B - stay snapped at A .... and accept with a datapoint (Left Mousebutton)
