Custom linestyle segment question

Hello, I have a question about a custom linestyle I'm trying to create.  I am trying to create a custom linestyle consisting of 2 parallel lines a certain distance apart that have a start and end cap at the beginning and end of the line.  All was going well until I place a sample line and then modified the sharp vertex into a rounded one.  When rounded, there are now end cap lines where the rounded vertex begins and ends (see attached image).  Is there a way to still have my start and end caps at the ends of the line but eliminate the cap lines at the rounded vertexes?  Is there a setting for this that I have missed?

Thanks,
Kevin

  • Open the resource file in the linestyel editor and go to the stroke component. At the bottom of the dialog there is a setting called corners, you can set it to break or bypass. Set this to bypass and then see if this gives you what you want. Rather than breaking at the bend and adding the end cap it should then bypass that until the very end of the complex chain.

  • Thanks Melissa, but I had already tried that setting ( and just about every setting available regarding linestyle strokes and points) to no avail. If my stroke component had a symbol attached to it, then the bypass might work, but the end cap symbol is only attached to the beginning and the end of the stroke, which evidently is at the beginning and end of each segment of a complex chain. My ideal situation would be to just add the end cap to a pair of parallel internal code solid lines, but unfortunately you need a stroke component to attach the symbol to, and the internal code lines don't have one that I can find. I appreciate your effort though.
