When selecting the global display from the View Display dialog, shouldn't the selected levels turn on/off in all the open views? If you uncheck this and close the Dialog Settings box, you will see View 1-8 toggles at the top of the View Display dialog. any view not currently open will be grayed out, but open views can be toggled to include their level display. all toggled views will be affected when ever a level is turned on or off. you will also see some levels which display gray, if they are on in one or more view(s) but also off in other views.
I've seen this in the past but, I have not run into it in a long time. Even when I've experienced the problem it was very rare.

RE: Global Display / View Display

Yes, the drop-down button is set to Global Display. There are no levels frozen ( or if they were, they've been unfrozen ). When I click on a level, it should turn on/off in all the views, but it only happens in view 1. View 5 does not change. The only way to get levels that are off in view 5 that are on in view 1, is to double-click the level(s) to make it the active level...then they appear in view 5.

RE: Global Display / View Display

Unfortunately it's not that simple. Normally this would be set to View Display. You can change it to be Global Display or Global Freeze. Be sure you have that set correctly according to what function you want. View Display will change the level state in the Active View (or another that you can specify). Global Display & Global Freeze will change the level states of the levels in the entire file (all views). I have a lot of users that are not aware that you can change the settings of the View Display dialog in this manner. I however, use the View Display dialog, switching the settings, rather than switching between Level Display & Level Manager. The only time I use LM is when I want to modify the bylevel or override settings.

RE: Global Display / View Display

George A. If Frozen the level will not display if you turn on the Global Display
