Linestyle with fill between two lines

I would like some ideas on how to create a linestyle containing two lines in the color red, with fill in the color blue.  This will be used in a mapping environment to create the roads.  I do have it in ArcGIS but unable to create in MicroStation.  Any suggestions?

  • It is a bit clunky but it can be done. Corners and sharp angles are a problem.

I created a Stroke, Point & Compound to accomplish this.

A Blue shape (1x12) for the inserted Symbol (using RGB values, so the Color Table would not affect it.)

Used the inserted Symbols Color (Blue).

Created 2 offset lines, Line Code 0 (+6 -6 for Road Width (12)) in the Compound.

I made other adjustments to make it all work the best I could, so you are going to have to look at the components to see what settings I made. I have attached the BlueRd.rsc.

Set your active Wt. & Color to the Lines Color & Wt.

    0550.BlueRd.rsc

  • I might consider a double via reference - one displaying a wide, unfilled linestyle of one color and the other a filled, wide linestyle. With priorities you can get the wide, filled line to plot first and the unfilled one to plot second.
