Attached Raster in Cell Element is missing when Cell is placed ...

Hi there,

I am not sure if this is the right place for this question but let's have a look ;-)

I tried to insert a logo (.jpg or .png-image) within a cell element (2D drawing) in a cell library as raster attachment:

When I now place this cell element in another drawing the raster is missing ... Why??

I have attached the cell library as well as the logo image - each advise is very welcome!

  • You have to tell microstation where to find rasters in your configurations.. via a MS variable for your  workspaces... if you dont like that approach then  you cant use the raster manager to place it in the cell but have to use  OLE embeded   ie make the image part of the cell  the resolution is not as good this way ..

The best way to to  draw this in cad...

you should be able to  obtain the vector version and what font was used  via the graphic designer  who made it ...

otherwise  from inside  the png file  print to pdf  high res and  send to internet  to scan to cad  and it will come back as a vectorised DWG

ref this into mstn and trace the link work for the elk  and the word ELK  then try to match the font style  for Hauser etc then its a DGN and  just be a ref file and attached directly in the cell or merged into the cell.. so no pathing.

Even if I use a fully qualified path like I did? ("\\Datacenter\Speedikon\Workspace\ ...")

  • you have to go into the workspace config file  and use the dialogue  to path it for you  but unless its a shared path config others wont find it..

its better to scan the image or convert the image to dxf  ref it into mstn and trace  the elk head and the block text

then place text from your local region fonts  to match the  smaller text exactly .. I dont have your fonts but I was able to download your jpg measure its size  14.5 x4.5cm

upload it to scan image to cad  which down loads it back as dxf

then attached the dxf as ref and traced  and region flooded the elk head  and eye and the ELK text as lines again flood region colour 178 for the green fill

and BG fill underneath for the frame so it will mask for you .. all done

you can open it as dgn and add your local text font for the black text  use colour 0

I did all this for you in about 1 hr including finding web site..

but through explanations  you could rebuild it  your self .. I suggest you use colour matching  for the green via  mstn itself and the raster... I just approximated the colours

looks pretty good to me..  oops I forgot  open your cell ref attach my dgn scale to suit by points then merge the ref file into your cell
