MICROSTATION-TEXT COLOR

Hello,

I am using Microstation v8i SS2.

I have text that I copied from one file to another.  In the source file the text looks yellow on the screen and in the destination file it looks cyan in color.  I checked the element properties side-by-side between the text elements in each file.  The text properties such as level, color, weight, font, size, style is none; were exactly the same.  However, they look different with different colors.  What other controls are likely influencing the colors of this text?

  • As John indicates it may be level related, possibly the 'Level Overrides' is applied in the ' View Attributes ' dialog in one file and not in the other.

  • In addition to Andrew and Carl's information there is another setting (to cover all the bases). In the Workspace > Preferences > Reference > "Use Color Table". This setting will also affect how the colors assigned to the elements, Display and Plot. It affects the color they would display, according to the color definition defined in the Reference file or according to the color it is defined in the Active (Master) file.
If toggled "On" (the Default setting), the Referenced elements will display (and plot) according to the defined color table in the Referenced file, where Color #1 is defined as Red.
If toggled "Off", M-Sta. will use the color definition in your Active file (where Color #1 is defined as Blue). When Toggled "Off" and you copy an element from the Referenced file into your Active file the color # assigned to the element will transfer to your file and it will change to the color # definition that is in your Active file.
