Key-in: Working Units>Master Unit: Feet> Label:_____

leave the working units set to feet and tenths and set the accuracy to zero. Where you need to make a change is in the dimensions. Go to Element>DimensioonStyles select the units tab and check the "use working units" option, then set the label format to MU and the accuracy to zero. This shouold give you the readout you want when measuring.

I have to pile on and ask here as well - why can't you just mentally round up or round down if you're just using the Measure tool? Or is this a case of mixing up the terminology between measuring and dimensioning? I see the Measure tool open in the screenshot, but I cannot for the life of me figure out why the display of measured units matters if you're not going to be applying them as a dimension.

@Dbl J D - what are you setting in the PCF that would effect this ? I don't follow. Also - why the need for a key-in ? Did you try the settings I mentioned ?

Let me start with Lorys-I am measuring lengths on a per sheet basis and once I get the length I’ll create a graphic group along the copied total from the measure tool to verify that those lines that have already been measured and believe me there a lot of them. David Fradley-I need actual numbers to verify. Tim Hickman-I’m NOT touching the pcf and the question was asked about the units.def. Since there is a key-in for setting the accuracy I just thought there would be one for the label as well.

I understand you need the actual numbers - but all MSTN is doing is rounding up in the screenshots you showed above. 3182.7 becomes 3183. 3182.4 would become 3182. Why waste all this time getting something to display the way you want it to when you can just do a simple rounding operation yourself? What am I missing?

You mentioned PCF which is the only reason I asked about it.

Now for the UNITS.DEF file, there is no need to touch/change this file.

So what ultimately are you looking to do ? IE: Get the total length of individual line segments in a sheet file...
