Hi,
I have a mesh which depicts the ground along a railway line. I would like to create a line string / B spline curve along the edge of the railway line (approx 10-20m from the track) for quite a distance. Basically I what I would like to do, is place tree cells along this profile line every 5m apart.
I can do this manually, but I am wondering if there is a quicker alternative?
Thanks
Matt
The following discussion may be of interest regarding draping elements onto mesh surfaces. communities.bentley.com/.../226261 It explains that the Stencil Selected Elements tool or the Mesh Project tool could be used to first drape the Line String or B-Spline Curve onto this mesh. Once the Line String or B-Spline Curve has been draped onto this mesh surface to your liking you can then use the tools on the Points toolbox, specifically Point(s) Along Element or Point At Distance Along. Although these tools are defined at Points tools they also allow you to use your selected cells. The Cell Tool, which is a separate MDL, provides a number of extra tools which you may find of interest. communities.bentley.com/.../cell-tool I particular there is a tool to place a cell repeatedly at a set distance along an element. I hope this information is of assistance.
