[V8i] Text Editor dialog box default

Version 08.11.09.357

I have the text editor style set to Dialog Box, but when I select certain text to edit, it comes up in the word processor.  Is there a reason for this?  Can you change it anyway to come up in the dialog box?

Thanks,

Joe

  • In the Word Processor box there are 2 little "arrows" in the ruler to set the indent. The bottom arrow will set the indent after the first line.

  • I want to verify this as an answer, though it's not really the answer to the question of the original post. It is very helpful though. Do you know if there is a way to set a length of a line of text so that when it reaches that point it automatically goes to the next line at previously set indent?
  • You can click on any of the dots at the top and when you hit tab, it should bring you to that tick mark. It won't stop you from typing past the tick marks automatically however, so you'll have to hit tab when you get close to the end of each line. :/

    keyin for line length is

    LL=number

    otherwise its in the advanced text style settings.. I can never find quickly but the  LL does work.

    I have a construction sequence for a set of plans that are numbered and the text is indented from the numbers and the next line of text which is still in the same bullet needs to have its text line up with the text above.  See the attached image. I've had issues in the past with getting the text to line up correctly using the word processor.

    .

    A work around I have used to fix text like this before is by copy pasting into word where the tools are easier to use and the result is wysiwg

    then past back in to a new empty text editor word processor dialog ..

    I've not had a lot of success fixing the format of someone elses text with the word processor and the indent and tabs options..
