Corrupt dgn file fix?

Question

Hello, I have a corrupted file that I cannot open anymore. I am not sure when or why this happened, and I get a 0x13013 error code. Is it any way to fix this or convert into other formats? Axiom filefixer is NOT an option at a cost of $3000. Please! Microstation Powerdraft V8

There is a general MDL "verifydgn.ma" available under the "asneeded" folder of MicroStation that can repair a number of issues with DGN files but you would normally need to be able to open or reference your problem files. In this case your file cannot be opened or referenced. I'm not sure what could have caused this corruption of your design file but it is usually caused by a crash or possible network issues while the file is open or being modified. It is always recommended that you regularly backup your files which can be easily achieved using the keyin BACKUP. This saves a copy of the current DGN file to the folder defined by the configuration variable MS_BACKUP. If this file is important and desperately needs to be recovered you should raise a new Service Request with the following details. appsnet.bentley.com/srmanager Recovering a DGN file is a task that does not always yields positive results. It is suggested to have backups of all working files. Retrieving the backup of the corrupted file and replacing the missing data is typically often more efficient. To potentially recover a vital file please provide the following information: - Was this file opened from a network drive? - What was the environment (local machine OS, server OS, etc.)? Please provide the following files: - The file that is resulting in the errors above. - A backup of the file in question. - The workstation's Exception history: -The machine's system and application event logs. To get the exception history: 1.Open a good file. 2. Key-in: $ % "$(ms_tmp)" 3.Gather entire "ExceptionHistory" folder. (Typically there will be 5 folders, but there could be more; please send all of them). To get the system and application logs: 1. Go to Start > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer 2. Expand "Windows Logs" (in XP: "Event Viewer (Local)&rdquo;) folder. 3. Right-click on "Application" and select "Save All Events As&hellip;" (in XP: "Save Log File As..."). 4.Give it a name and save. 5. Repeat steps #3 and #4 for "System". Notes: - DO NOT rename the DGN file. **This will make it hard to locate patterns related to this file in the exception history. - DO NOT try to open the file. - ZIP all the contents. *This is important to maintain file integrity during the e-mail trip.
