Help with stretch command

Hi

I currently have created a title block which is a 8.5"x11" at a scale of 1:1 (see dgn drawing).

I have been trying for awhile now to make this a 11"x17" landscape drawing at a scale of 1:1 using the stretch and scale and various commands to make this work but nothing is working. Can someone help me make this and explain to me how they did this so I can learn.

Any help would be appreciated..

    Hello,
Thanks for your reply. My original attachment was in the wrong scale it should have been in inches. What you say is exactly the problem I had with the scale command the text was not legiable. After trying your suggestion a couple of times it never seems to work correctly.
Can you create the 11"x17" and 24"x 36" dgn drawing for me.Thanks

The video MWlong  has done for you exactly  follows my  description perfectly  he used overlap  fence method , I prefer the  clip fence but either should work.

you should not have any issues copying  how the  video works  it especially  if you print  out my  description and  follow together.

Essentially you stretch first in one direction then stretch in another direction and use the real size polygon as a reference so you know where to stop stretching.

Now if the  text is meant  to stay that  size I'm not sure it should, you need to consult your standards to see if it needs to scale up or  then use the  scale  tool on just the text  to just scale up the text x & y the same factor to prevent distortion.

  • Andrew's video shows up like mine here. I'm using Google Chrome. For the video I use something called HyperCam. It was free at one time. I just tried to get a co-worker set up with it and it seems to be a trial version now. The file size was too large to upload to the forum so I had to use a software package called Handbrake to convert from .avi to .mp4 format. I believe the final size was just under 1mb.

  • MWlong,

Andrew redid his video shortly  after I tried it .. and he reduced the  file size from 45Mb ( I misread it as 45mins to download but it still took several mins) but his replacement now loads just as fast as yours...

Steve  were you able to reproduce what we all suggested and also do a 24" version...?
