Hello,
Is there a way to determine which Model in a drawing is the default/master model (the one that cannot be deleted)? For example, if I have a drawing with 20 Design Models that all contain a similar Name and no descriptions, I cannot tell which one is Default.
I know that you can highlight a model and then move down the list until the delete icon is greyed out to determine which one is default but unfortunately this is not very efficient when you are dealing with a ton of drawings that contain roughly 20 models or so.
I am using MicroStation V8i. Any information is greatly appreciated.
This methodology is best if you wish to retain the DESIGN HISTORY of the original DRG (as I do).
We use DESIGN HISTORY (DH) extensively for our MASTER SITE DRGS and some MODELS were created in the past in 3D, but need to be 2D.
Export to 2D loses DH.
We export the 3D MODEL as 2D. Create a new 2D DESIGN MODEL in the original file and REFERENCE/MERGE, the 2D export back into the new DESIGN MODEL
However, this leaves the undeletable 3D DESIGN MODEL in the file. The tip above eliminates this unrequired DESIGN MODEL and leaves DH untouched.

I discovered by accident a little trick .. create a new drawing now ref attach your multi model file and the real default model no matter what it has been named will always be the model self selected automatically as msnt sees it still as the default.. this annoys me at times as I don't always want that one but one of the other named models... but its good to know it ALWAYS does it ...
