If you place the new markers straight out of the box and just edit their text - replacing the fields with your manual entries - does that work for you? What specifically are you missing? Do you need your own "looks"?

I realize the new tools are supposed to be superior, but they require so much more to setup and use than the old Draft Tools. It's really to bad that Bentley is not willing to listen to their customers anymore. I've used this software since it was PsudoStation and in years past they really did listen to the users. I guess we have to hope and pray that some kind developer will come along and compile these tools for us. It's not just the callout tools that Lorys alluded too, but it's also the place title, place section marker, all the tools and their configuration were so much simpler to use. Now we have to setup saved views of reference files, and the actual configuration of what you want to show graphically is much more complicated. Really sad day for our advancement and use of this product. Guess we will have to go back to developing enter data field cells, or tag enabled cells to get close to what Draftools did before.

Of course the new tools are great, were just talking about an additional simple place note & leader were not talking about taking anything away or not using what is there just an extra addon for quick notes similar to the old draft tools..

Its just that to use the place not tool because its a whole bunch of tools using the same interface settings that you have to go through too many options for a one off palce note... personally I have managed to cope with the loss of draft tools but it doesnt mean I like haveing to do all the extra steps instead of pick an icon.

I like to see Power Users and CAD Managers at the edge of technologies and best practices. If you reckon callouts and drawing titles part of hypermodelling workflows the old drafting tools I guess are really outdated. Even in a 2D Workflow I find the drawing title created from a Saved View dragged in to a Sheet File is so much quicker and really more elegant...? Don't you think?

I dont think it was directed at Bentley but hopefully some nice developer could see most of us users dont like the current place note tool ... and found the old draft tools far easier to use with less things to have to change for simple or small jobs...

And hopefully build a simple one to compliment what we have in msnt and that isnt dimension dependent. but text or graphic dependent instead.

All of the previously known "Drafting Tools" have either been moved or incorporated into other tools and toolbars. The following Wiki should help to explain what may have happened to these.

Bentley do not have any plans on introducing obsolete tools back into our software when they have been replaced with more advanced tools.

If you can find the original draft tools uncompiled code from SE or J then you can try recompiling it your self...
