Is it possible in Microstation to export the named symbology to a pdf file?

I woulfd like to export a simbology table from a dgn file I have. I have to produce a PDF file containing all the symbols and descriptions. Any idea if there is a way to do it automatically?

From what you describe, you will likely need something custom to provide that -- either "off-the-shelf" or something custom-built. It will depend a bit on what you want to "collect" regarding element parameters (e.g. levels, linestyles, color, weight for all elements, text size and justification for text, etc.) 
 
One question, though... what is the purpose for this? Is it going to enable or be part of some sort of "quality control"? If so, you might want to take a look at MicroStation's built-in Standards Checker. It is pretty powerful as-is and can be customized to fit specific needs.

if you have used cells for your symbols this little tool will list all the cells used... you can then use the tools in the zip file to make list or legend and use that for pdf or paste the symbols as image capture and with the excel to make the list just pdf that... 
 In any case this will list all the cells by name used and how many of each .... 
 Its still in good old BASIC Cellist.zip so anybody want to convert it to vba go ahead and share later... 
 cellist.zip to help you look for font symbols used you can use macro fontrep to look for all used fonts then once you know what fonts have been used make them active one at atime and run putfont .bas this will place all the keyboard letters of the active font saves typing all the letters and numbers in upper and lower case for you...
