Import geotagged jpegs into Microstation v8i

Is it possible to import geotagged images into a dgn-file? Having the images land where the geotag location is? I measured a pipe, and took pictures if the pipe-labels along the way. I'd like these images to show up at the correct location in Microstation. The topics I've found on this date back to 2012, so I was hoping an update had made it possible.

  • We would suggest that the use of the Raster Manager would be the better option for placing images within your design files. Ensuring that the location and scale of the image is being attached according to some geospatial parameters or coordinate systems can add a further complexity to this operation. How the Raster Manager attaches your image according to specific geotagg information can depend of the type of image you are trying to attach and the coordinate or spatial information you have been provided with. These methods can fall into a number of categories specific to this information. The following Bentley Community wiki page provides some very good information on using World Coordinates, Sister Files, Georeferencing, Geocoding etc. It also shows various preferences used in the georeferencing of your image files.
