unwanted duplicates

Hello to all. 
 Many times when using "mirror" 3 entities are the result, with the excess copy atop the original feature: any ideas for a FIX?

I down loaded your file it has many duplicate elements in the small rectangle with connections and appears to be mirrored about the center. and the that right hand box also has many duplicate elements 
 first I deleted the duplicates via the clean up tool... then I removed the mirrored right hand side version of the connector box 
 now that I want to mirror the left hand one I put into a selection only what I want to mirror then right mouse button choose mirror 
 ticked make copy and about line , I chose the obvious vertical center line and a copy is made mirrored but it is now the selection set so you have to end the command or close the tool box and deselect the selection... 
 your file is posted back here the yellow section in what I made via mirror..the left half no duplicates 
 your original file had many many duplicates of both the left and right.... I dont think the mirror tool is at fault but the data you started with may be the problem.... 
 but can you do a simple example of a rectangle mirrored about a centre line one horizontal CL and another vertical CL 
 how are you doing your selection set ... by elements, by crossing window etc 
 try make example file that has no duplicates to start with then do your mirror and see if duplicates happen if so undo place circle about the elements to mirror and post he and I'll have a go at making a video to upload of how I did it... or some one else will.... 4800654.dgn
