CONNECT - Steel utility?

This started in the EAP forum but could someone at Bentley confirm when the steel utility is to be upgraded to work with CONNECT?

I would think that as MicroStation CONNECT Edition has only just been released that the priority would not currently be for the free utilities provided for previous versions. When these tools have been upgraded I would expect announcements to be made.

MicroStation CONNECT Edition does not support the STEEL Utility. You can use the Parametric Modeling tools to create the steel sections. Refer to the following blog to know how to create them using the Parametric Modeling tools:

 I have a work around for you if you still have access to V8i and steel.ma 
 Make a new dgn in V8i 
 Run steel 
 Choose which standard you will most often use 
 then place each section from Steel ( the std you most use ) 
 now create a cell library call it the Steel_Std you chose already 
 now create cells the old school way with fence around each section one at a time and place the cell origin, if your active cell lib is open then you can chose create and give each a name based on the type and size... 
 now everyone can call up the cell for the section you need.. not ideal perfect like make steel.ma work in new plat forms but still useable as old school cells 
 you can even use the old cell selector ( I dont like this if you have fills and lots of cells)... 
 You can now post the new cell lib here and we can all share 
 I suggest we all volunteer to choose a country standard and create the specific cell lib for that country and use the format Steel_Country or StdName.cel 
 and up load it here for all to share .. if we all do it it wont be too big a burden for any one user... or if you have student or are a student volunteer to do the lot will e good practice...

The steel library is included with the MicroStation Connect SDK. You can download the SDK and compile it.
