CONNECT - Is there a way to disable workspaces & worksets?

Question

Is there a way to disable workspace/worksets so that users can't create these? As we have our own way of creating projects we don't really need the CONNECT versions.

See new variable MS_CONFIGURATIONOPTS has been added to allow you to control the creation or selection of Workspaces and Worksets from the respective drop down lists in the Work page. 
 MS_CONFIGURATIONOPTS = DisallowCreatingWorkSpace 
 MS_CONFIGURATIONOPTS = DisallowCreatingWorkSet 
 MS_CONFIGURATIONOPTS = DisallowCreatingWorkSpace, DisallowCreatingWorkSet

The configuration variable MS_WORKSPACEOPTS capabilities have now been removed due to the changes on the Start Page (File Open) operations. A suggestion has been made that you could ensure the users permissions are defined so that they are not allowed to create Workspaces or WorkSets by not allowing them write access to those files or folders.

If you were to have projectwise you could control everything including filenames, folder locations project and who can and cant see what? 
 Its very powerful and even controls revisions and work flows and tracks everything .. QA auditors love it... oh and it also can work with autocad files... 
 Even has checking in and out drawings and ref files... but not cheap and steep learning curve for administrators...
