CONNECT - Missing icons

I've set up Task Navigation using the same DGNLIB that we use for SS3. In CONNECT a number of the icons are missing. How do I get these back?

This was discussed as part of the EAP and I thought resolved.

  • Hello Stuart,

I created a new Workspace and Workset, and added ws-gui.dgnlip to …\WorkSets\StuartW\Standards\Dgnlib\GUI
With that, not all missing icons were reproducible. Just one remained unavailable; Dimension Radial
And it looks like that this menu item has not been defined.

Would it be possible to provide us with an overview on how your WorkSpaces and WorkSets are setup?

We (read I) don't use Workspaces/worksets (have never got these to work properly) but use No Workspace/No Workset.

  • All I've done is point CONNECT to our server workspace as I do with SS3. Note that all works fine with SS3.
  • You should not just be pointing the CONNECT version to a server workspace designed for V8i SS3 as they have a completely different structure and workflow. You should be using the structure of the CONNECT workspace and inserting any customizations, like this ws-gui.dgnlib, within the new structure. I believe this is what Rene was trying to advise. Maybe if you should provide the workflow you are following to move your custom V8i SS3 workspace for use in MicroStation CONNECT Edition along with this customized workspace so we can advise on the best options you have for what you are trying to achieve.

I'm not. As suggested by Bentley on the EAP forum I have copied over the installed CONNECT workspace from "C:\ProgramData\Bentley\CONNECT Edition\Configuration\Organization" to our server, and pointed CONNECT to this.

As noted I copied the installed to our server. and amended "WorkSpaceSetup.cfg" (as suggested by Bentley) which has "_USTN_WORKSPACESROOT = I:/CONNECT-workspace/WS-WorkSpace/" set. Our server workspace has a CONNECT.cfg ijn the Standards folder, with a number of configs set.
