item types and areas

Hi Luc.

A shape element already has an Area property.
There is currently no mechanism for associating an Item property with a property of the element to which it is attached.
For documentation, open the Item Types dialog and press F1.

I try to express me clearer. See attached screenshot.

I defined an Item Type "Lokaalfiches" and I attached this to the shape in the view. Now I would like to have the Area Property filled in automatically where I place the red ellipse.

I thought I saw once something with an expression but the expression Elements.Area does not seem to do the job?

Is there really no possibility?

How about Element.Area (omit the 's').

Is there something possible? Is there any documentation about which expressions can be used and how?

Luc,

I guess the question is why? If the Element has an area ad you can use the elements area for all reporting, labeling, etc. Why would we duplicate the area on the item.
