connect web browser in connect edition

No sure if I understand your issue.

Are you trying to insert cells using the Connect web browser by using the URL that points to 3d warehouse site? If so, I believe connect edition has removed this feature (3d warehouse).

If this is not the case and the cells are in a cell library please verify that configuration variable MS_CELL and MS_CELLLIST is pointing to the right directory.

If this does not work for you please open the message center and let us know if there is any message displayed there and please send us the cell library to see if we can reproduce the issue.

thanks for your answer.

We don´t want to import cells by 3D-Warehouse, but by our own cell library. I was trying to change the configuration variable MS_CELL and MS_CELLLIST to the path, where is the folder, but there was no success. In the V8i was that not necessary to change the configuration variable there.

If we connect to web browser the internet explorer open and our cells will be open. But it´s not possible to import our cells in the actually file.
Here i send you a part of our cell library. With that file, you can create a html file in the html author and with that html file you can open the cells in our cell library.

In the message center was no message after we tried to import our cells.

Hi Marc,

I was testing your file and I created the htm page.
I can load the connect browser and paste C:\Users\maria.munoz\Desktop\01_modell.htm to display the two cells (01_Garage and 4-garage-offen) but the only possibilities is to open or save 01_modell.cell for me works the same way as in V8i  (I tested with SS3).

As far as I know The HTML Author does not create a web page allowing you to select and insert cells in a design files. For that you need to use the Cell toolbox, attach the file and then insert the cells directly from there.

Hi Maria,

i have seen your movie, but we import the cell to an other way. I have send to that message two movies. The Movie "V8i" shows the import in MicroStation V8i successfull and the movie "Connect Edition" shows no import, it´s unsuccessfull.

In the movies you can see the problem in the connect edition by using connect web browser. Is there a possibility to import the cells with the internet explorer like we do that?

Thanks for supplying these videos. The operation of your workflow seems to indicate you have customized tools within MicroStation V8i that connect with these webpages of your cells. They do not seem to have been produced using the HTML Author as suggested by Maria. Are these customized tools something that was developed in your company, something that was purchased from another company, or maybe produced by Bentley? It may just be that the customizations in this tool have to be adjusted for proper operation in MicroStation CONNECT Edition.
