CONNECT - 10.0.0.25 - List of removed Key-in commands?

Is there a list somewhere of the Key-in's that have been removed from Connect?  I know the Readme has a list of removed features.  My problem is we have over a thousand drop down menus that all rely on Key-ins.  I'm finding some of them have changed or been removed all together.  This was one feature I really liked about microstation.  No matter where commands and buttons were moved the key-ins were always there.  Now it seems they have removed several (that we use).  I'm sure there are many more.

Is there a simple list somewhere?

Below is the latest one that I noticed missing.

  • I have the same problem, I would like to get back all those super fast commands. I believe this new Connect edition is a step backwards. I will stay with V8i.
  • I can only speak for my own experience, but I find Connect to hold enough promise to be worth working with. Only a small number of folks in our office are using it and re-building our cell library as all our old feature cells no longer work in Connect.

That being said the out of box ribbons were very clumsy but I was able to rebuild it to a single ribbon bar with drop downs and named expressions for visibility between 3D and 2D work environments. Moving the old main tool box to the spacebar menu has actually helped some users who were unable to use the 1-9 hotkeys. With some ribbon adjustments you can use all of your old hot key's q through b pretty smoothly.

Making the ribbon more usable for a cleaner workflow was a must beyond that there are some holes, within the radial dimension styles and lots of bugs to get worked out but the added power or potential of power is pretty awesome. Moving to 64bit alone is huge, in v8i point clouds were painful on the best of days being able to use all the memory in my machine has made them much easer to work with.

My only wish is that Bentley would start pushing out updates to correct some of the worst offending bugs so that we could start using it on real projects.

Any reasons why cell library  doesn't work and needs rebuilding?

How are you rebuilding cell library to make it work with CE?

  • Feature base solids and cells have been a deprecated. The path forward is to use Parametric models & Parametric Cells.
  • Lory's, as DavidG said, over half of our cell library is feature cells which do not port into Connect. Thus they all need to get re-built before our all of the tools we built in V8i will be available to our engineers.
