CONNECT - Text editor

I have two issues with the manner it is working for me.  With previous versions, when editing text that's already in the drawing, I often hit the "Insert" key on my keyboard and overtyped whatever was was written before.  That is apparently not an option now, because the Insert key has no effect on the Text Editor.  The other issue is the disappearance of the ability to change the text width, independent of the text height, while in the text editor.  It's not something I need to do often, but having it in the text editor was quicker, and had the ability to change a single line or word, as opposed to going through the Properties tool box which affects the entire text block.

As with any new generation software release, the solutions to my problems may be there, but I just haven't stumbled across them yet.

  • In the Text Editor dialog when placing or editing text, I use the Arrow Keys on my keyboard to move Left/Right thru the line of text. It seems that the Arrow Keys will have the opposite affect moving the cursor in the opposite direction to the direction marked on the keys.

  • This issue was resolved by an software update and new option in the Word Processor.

Seems if you Right Click in the Word Processor dialog, key-in area, there is an option for "Input Direction" I don't think it was in the version I had then, but it is now (CE U5). It was set Right to Left (<) and it should have been set Left to Right (>). After switching the setting everything works OK. There is also an option for Vertical. So it displays the text at 90 deg. (actually 270) in the Word Processor dialog.
