Hello,
I have a dimension and i want to override the dimension with text. So, i activated text edit command and appended the text along with the dimension value(visible as '*' in text editor). Is the length of the dimension text limited? If the input text is about to cross the dimension line, the text is invisible.
Is there any setting that needs to be turned on inorder to make the dimension text visible even if the text wont fit in the dimension width.
Hi Venkatesh,
I haven’t seen text disappearing, but will change locations depending on text width. Are you using a Dimension Style (Element > Dimension Styles). Try changing the Fit options (Geometry > Fit Options > Text/Terminator) and test.

If the text has so many extra characters that it still doesnt look right with Leonards solution then perhaps you need to just replace the * with a space and enter this then leaves the dims empty ie no text ... and add the text later as a separate note with arrow leader or just plain multiline text above the horizontal dim line so it still fits between the leaders...some times you just have to make it work to look right on paper and break all the cad rules about association for dims....
