How to use a region with a gradient with 2 colors (darker at the edges of a shape and lighter to the center)?

Hello,

I am trying create a presentation exhibit and use a region with a gradient fill that is dark on the edges of my shape and gets lighter towards the center (centroid) of the shape.  Has anyone done this before?  The region would be similar to a gradient using a spherical type.

Thank you in advance.

  • This is what I am trying to achieve:

If you look at the "stormwater facility" shapes, the gradient is dark on the edges and gets lighter towards the center.
  • Yes I have done this in SS3, but not tries in CONNECT. Can't remember how at the moment but will check.
  • Hi Reimondgarcia,

Have a look at this video.

  • Short answer is no.    Gradient fills work on element range.  They are not edge based.

That said I've seen some pretty creative illustrations done using some technics with the 3D & Visualization tools but it takes some time and effort.  Nothing as simple as applying a fill.

You can also fake it by overlaying shapes and applying transparency.

  • Thank you all for the responses. The "layering" technique is probably the closest to what I was thinking.
