labeling coordinates

I have a VBA that labels an XY coordinate, but don't know what is needed to convert that to a GPS coordinate. Is there a simple conversion factor involved?

All I know is that ACAD does it well and it's very easy using the Add Label tool, all you do is pick Lat Long from a tool pulldown menu, click the point you want to label and you're done. I am very hopeful that MicroStation has such a tool. This is the only function that forces me to continue opening ACAD on my computer and I would love to eliminate the need to open ACAD. So far I haven't been able to find a tool in MS that I can use to find the Lat and Long of individual points. I'm needing a tool that will allow me to pan through drawings and quickly get the Lat / Long coordinates as needed.

That sounds more like a Civil3D or Map tool than straight ACAD.

Are you using any of the Bentley vertical products, such as InRoads?

I use InRoads.

It is very possible that the label tool I mentioned is part of Civil3D. Civil 3D is running on my ACAD and I'm sure it is excellent software but I don't care much for ACAD and avoid using it as much as possible.

I've searched quite a bit for a similar tool in MicroStation and InRoads but have thus far come up short. I did find the "Label Point Coordinate" tool that will label the coordinates but it's decimal X,Y coordinates and I really hope to find a tool that will quickly label LAT and LONG as I move through the files.

A quick look at InRoads help shows:

"InRoads outputs latitude and longitude in reports and drafting notes."

So you should be able to setup a drafting note to display lat/long. I just searched InRoads help for "longitude" and found it. I haven't had to deal with lat/long other than requesting a coordinate from our surveyors.
