Hello, I have a 3d project im working on for school and im having some trouble. I am trying to model an automobile rim/wheel. I have the basic shape formed and now im trying to make some subtractions in the solid to create things like spoke design and bolt holes. I am trying to start with the bolt holes. I created a little cylinder solid and placed in on the rim to subtract it and I keep getting the same error message "Unable to complete boolean operation." The face of the rim has some angle to it and I think that it might be making it too complex to work on. I was hoping someone had some tips to work this out. I would hate to start all over. 127_EDWA_151102_Rim.dgn
I believe the problem your seeing relates to the rim solid and the profile used to create it in the first instance. In a rendered view you will see ghosting in the center
also looking at the profile on the right hand side there is a diagonal line going across the profile
I recreated the rim using the profile in the attached file and all is well.
