Hi,
if there is an element with a tag attached, an information about the tag is not displayed in Properties dialog (former Element Information dialog).
As an example, here is the dialolog with a selected line element with tag:
With regards,

Was the tag created in a previous version of MicroStation? Can you attach and example file showing the issue? I have created an element in V8i and attached a tag to it. In the properties dialog it does show the tag as an item type, this is what they are now.

What! Tag elements continue to existing in MicroStation CONNECT. They remain, as far as I can see, the same as in earlier generations of MicroStation V8.
Item Types are new to MicroStation CONNECT, and are a manifestation of meta-data defined in an EC Schema.
If tag elements and Item Types are the same thing, then I have completely misunderstood the latter. Please help!

Did I say anythiong like that? No.
What I wrote is that I see tags in Properties dialog and that I tested it using cells.

It's hard to guess where the problem is when you share no information. Post what you see in Properties dialog, share test design file. Without such information, nobodu can help you.

Tags are easy to use, but it comes to reporting they are a drag.
Items are great in terms of reporting. But they are a drag for users to work with.
And some issues I would like to be enhanced / corrected to make the use of CELLs with items possibly as easy as with tags.
These are main points that hinder the use of items at my end. they are to clumsy to use still.
As background info: We are still handling a lot of projects where symbology in 2D floor plans (documenting electrical installation) is the common way of working. We are normally only updating existing plans or creating plans accordingly.I guess a lot of customers are still doing a lot of "simple" drafting still (!?)
But I guess the points above would be of value for any user.
For your convenience I add a e cell with one label text included in the cell and a label anchored beside.
Try moving around and try copying and then moving the copy....

It works:
The issue was addressed in Connect Update 15
...and I can take it all back... Found out that I was the problem and not the software (was an object inside of the object that had the tags and off course i could find it with the "tag tool").
