for some reason the text is not coming into the dgn space delimited as shown...text comes in out of line...what to do?
Monique,
Does it have to be Microstation Text?
If while in Excel you select all your cells you can control C copy , then in microstation you can paste special and choose excel ( I prefer embedded as it becomes part of the cad file) there are several choices but dont use the image choices...
you can then place by dynamic points or size etc .. if you make the excel file xls instead of csv you can use some cool formatting headings, bold, borders around each cell etc and these then are preserved in cad... only issue is if you are forced to use a font..
If you must use a msnt font then there is a little known macro delivered with microstation that will draw a table with lines and use active font etc.. it takes a few practice go's if you never used it before but its pretty great and leaves you original text file intact it just imports it ... search your system for table.bas or try running it from command line with keyin
macro table
After you run it it asks for your txt file ( you can aslo select csv from pull down)
then data point and your table starts drawing and populating via the settings used.. pretty cool really...
you'll also find a text file called table in the same folder as an example of the formating FYI it doesnt like over rides on so turn that off from Control B.. otherwise it works fine.. you may have to tweak the results with fence stretch and clip or scale etc but I've been using that on and off since 2002 when I'm not allowed to use windows fonts or excel copy paste...
here is screen shot ...I used the engineering msnt font if you cant find the macro or dont have it email me or Private message me and I'll send it to you...
it has preferences that you need to set ie colours lines on off column widths in master units not characters
The first line is the headings, number of columns depend on how you have the column delims set in your text file .. this macro I find works better than plain import text from a file....
Also if you dont want the line work you can just delete it or turn off the options for separators in the settings and have only the text , but I prefer to group the text as a selection so it moves together as one object for ease of location in best spot...
Give it a try you'll love it!

Hi Monique!
Copy the text (Ctrl C) and Paste (Ctrl V) the Text into the MicroStation "Text Editor - Word Processor" dialog.
Assuming you have the correct Text Settings Font, Size, Spacing, etc. settings you can now Set/Adjust the Tab spacing (See attached image.)
I hope I have the right Idea as to what you are having trouble with.
I Hope This Helps Someone Reading This! (Intergraph>PseudoStation>MicroStation user since 1980's)
